Year 2010: for the first time in history, one of the most important sport and media events, the FIFA World Cup, takes place on the African continent. While the world's focus will be on South Africa and football, the Twenty Ten project grabs this opportunity to give African journalists a greater voice.

I am an African journalist, working in print, radio or photography. Why should I apply for Twenty Ten?

-         I want to receive free professional journalistic training and mentorship assured by highly qualified and experienced tutors.

-         Through a highly motivated professional and ethical environment, I want to boost my skills and capacities.

-         With colleagues from all over Africa, I want to build a unique and exclusive Twenty Ten network.

-         I want the unique opportunity to develop and strengthen my professional reputation by Africa-wide and international online-distribution of my journalistic works before and during the FIFA World Cup 2010.

-         I want to receive 50% of the sales of my Twenty Ten productions (if I am a freelancer).

-         After the training, I could be selected to be part of a team that goes to South Africa during the FIFA World Cup 2010 to report on the event.

How do I get involved?

Please go to www.africamedia-allstars.net to register and find out everything about the project.

An independent professional selection committee will select the 108 African journalists that will participate in the Twenty Ten project.

If you are not a journalist yourself, please inform other people who comply with the criteria about this great opportunity!

Twenty Ten is a project organized by World Press Photo Foundation, Free Voice, Africa Media Online and lokaalmondiaal. Twenty Ten is sponsored by the Dutch Postcode Lottery.
